Claim Nature

A Claim Nature is selected by clicking the field to display a drop-down menu, then clicking a choice to select it.

The claim natures are:

GU – General Unsecured, claims that do not meet the requirements of a secured claim and are not entitled to priority under 11 U.S.C. §§ 507(a).

PRI – Priority, certain categories of unsecured claims that are entitled to priority under 11 U.S.C. §§ 507(a) and are paid from available money or property in a bankruptcy case before other unsecured claims.

SEC – Secured, claims backed by a lien on property of the debtor.

AP – Administrative Priority, claims that are entitled to administrative priority under 11 U.S.C. §§ (a)(2) and are not backed by a lien on property of the debtor.

AS – Administrative Secured, claims that are entitled to administrative priority under 11 U.S.C. §§ (a)(2) and are backed by a lien on property of the debtor.

Selecting a Claim Nature restricts the search results to only one Claim Nature. Leaving the field blank retrieves all claims regardless of their Claim Nature.

A Claim Nature cannot be selected if the Claim Amount type selection is Schedule Amount.
